Ethiopia: Death of the Two Supreme Powers

Introduction
Meles Zenawi and Abune PaulosOn May 18, 2012, a rare event occurred in view of millions of people around the Globe. It happened in a manner that defied the rules and codes of social sciences. In weeks following the event, the two supreme powers of Ethiopia died within weeks of each other. These highly unusual circumstances added together with other affairs in Ethiopia sparked thoughts of deep spiritual dimensions. The events are not explainable by reasons and principles of Political Sciences. This article is a political opinion and does not pertain to the act of Abebe Gelaw, which is entirely in a different field and domain appropriate to theological scholars and spiritual leaders.
Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explore the political consequences that the departures of the two supreme powers entail on the unfinished reconstruction of Ethiopia into many conceptual nations.
Meles invented several nations to form, according to the wish of each, an Ethnic Federal government, if not, become what each should be in the cataclysm that the death of the nation triggers. The Ethnic Federal system is not a practical concept. It is anti-modernization and anti-democratic principles, and created by force, it will not be sustainable by any means other than force. The evil system has consumed its inventor, and may not exist without its guardian.
Notions of Ethnic Federalism
According to the concepts of Ethnic Federalism, an Oromo person may not practice his/her heritages in Wollo province designated by Ethnic Federal system as habitat (Kilil) of exclusively Amara descendants. A person with Amara heritages has no proper place in Tigray province where the group rights of Tigrean descendants do not protect the rights of a citizen of the conceptual Amara Nation. No person can enjoy the full freedom, liberty and pursuits of happiness outside his/her designated Kilil or nation. When languages restrict the freedom of movements of each individual citizen and hinder the full pursuit of happiness, even the nation formed by Federal States virtually becomes prison cells. Ethnic Federalism is a cult invented by Meles Zenawi to hinder modernization of Ethiopians. That is the purpose and the precise notion of Ethnic Federalism in the nutshell.
